Washington County Community Educational institutions are stepping up endeavours to seek the services of new workers for out there positions throughout the system.
The university program will be web hosting a job fair every single Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., July 28 as a result of Sept. 15, at 820 Commonwealth Avenue in Hagerstown.
“Associates will be out there for screening interviews, to support with applying, and to reply typical concerns,” according to a WCPS announcement.
The college program is employing for several positions, but it especially demands bus drivers, paraprofessionals and food support assistants.
“Spring and summer time are normally peak choosing seasons for Washington County General public Schools as we get ready for the school yr in advance,” spokesperson Erin Anderson wrote in an e-mail. “College systems nationwide are struggling with academic staffing shortages, including instructors, bus motorists, paraprofessionals, and administrators, very similar to what we are enduring in Washington County.
“WCPS is strategically participating with federal initiatives to seek the services of grant-funded positions that will help our aims of accelerating learning and supporting many scholar demands as our faculty local community recovers from the pandemic,” she claimed.
The college method has currently hired over 130 new academics for the 2021-22 university year, Anderson said.
As of Thursday, the faculty program needed to fill the subsequent positions:
• Lecturers — four elementary, six middle and nine high faculty
• 10 other educating positions including art, overseas language, speech language pathologist, health/bodily instruction and counselor and English language
• 20 in food and nutrition providers
• 6 in maintenance and operations
• 44 paraprofessionals
• Two secretarial/clerical
• 4 in college student guidance expert services
• A few in technologies
• 32 in transportation
• One assistant principal
• One school psychologist
• Substitute academics
“WCPS supplies exclusive employment prospects, supplying men and women the capability to make a constructive impact in their group even though also rising their occupation,” Anderson claimed. “We offer an outstanding gains offer with competitive pay out and education possibilities.”
The college system is presenting a one-time stipend for new and returning staff. The payment will come courtesy of federal grants.
WCPS will offer 4% further compensation to base salaries for the 2021-2022 university year. Payments will be dispersed to all qualified new and returning employees on a quarterly foundation.
The offer does not apply to temporary or substitute academics.
“We inspire our neighborhood to show up at the weekly work fairs to explore how WCPS can meet up with and even exceed occupation aspirations,” Anderson claimed.
