PIQUA — Soon after Edison State Neighborhood University athletics were canceled this previous spring, the volleyball group will kick off the return of Charger athletics this tumble. The Woman Chargers have worked really hard in the course of the previous yr, regularly making ready for their return to the court.
Head Coach Julia Brandewie will be foremost the Lady Chargers for the fifth season. In addition to her encounter as a mentor, Brandewie was section of her high school’s Division II State Winner group, competed internationally with Leading Volleyball Academy, and performed for Owens Group College and Siena Heights College.
“We are outside of energized to be back playing this year,” Brandewie reported. “For the previous year, we have been practicing regularly with no game titles, so it is been a very long yr of only practices.”
The Woman Chargers will return to the courtroom with 8 sophomores and a few incoming freshmen.
Brandewie extra, “Because of COVID, we have a combine of players ranging from university student-athletes who have been here for 3 a long time to new incoming freshmen. I’m fired up to have the management of our returning players.”
“This team of women shows a remarkable sum of resilience. They have committed them selves to drop in appreciate with the procedure of education. I’m fired up for them to clearly show off everything they’ve been working on for the last 12 months.”
The group will perform their to start with video game on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, in opposition to Clark Point out College, which will get spot on the Woman Chargers’ home court. Their to start with absent activity will be Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, at Lorain County Local community College.
Joining Brandewie is Tasha Potts as Assistant Mentor. Potts is a former Woman Charger, an Edison State alumna, and a Piqua native. Potts’ two productive seasons as a Woman Charger permit her to give valuable advice in her role as a mentor.
